Upcoming workshops and meetings. Links to the full bulletin

This week, October 7th, 7:00 pm @ Tolland High School Library - please come to the first Community Budget Workshop. I will share an overview of the budget process as well as an overview for the remaining Community Budget Workshops. Please come and help work on a budget for the Tolland Public Schools. I will keep this kickoff meeting brief, less than an hour and half. In the past, conversations generally occurred farther along in budget development – this workshop will help get us talking earlier in the process, with a greater chance of affecting change. Come hear about the district’s vision and goals, and share your own, for the Tolland Public Schools.

Coming up NEXT WEEK the Raising Resilient Kids Community Conversation. This community lead workshop is a great opportunity to come together and ask: what should growing up in Tolland be like? How do we create the experience we want for kids? And in an era of “everyone gets a trophy” how do kids learn to cope with challenging situations and emotions? We need your voice! Thursday, October 15th, in the Tolland Middle School cafeteria from 6:00 – 9:00 PM.

Please consider signing up for the Athletics Advisory Committee for the Tolland Public Schools. This committee will include both community members and staff. The first meeting is scheduled for October 20, 2015 at 4:00 PM and meetings will be once a month. The remaining meetings for this year will be November 17, and December 15th at 4:00 – 5:00 PM. Please contact Jen Palumbo at 860-870-6850 extension 1 or at in the central office if you are interested in being part of this committee.

We are in the process of designing a workshop for the community -An Evening about Autism – November 2, 2015 – more Information to follow on this event.
